Currently, using SPN and ETH with the Sapien platform requires a gas fee in the form of additional ETH since we’re using the Ethereum mainnet. Sapien has no control over gas fees because they are determined by the level of network usage by other people on the Ethereum mainnet.
To control for gas costs, you can configure some settings in Metamask using its guide on the process. The lower you set your gas limit, the longer the transaction could take to process, up to hours or days to complete.
Your gas limit applies to staking, swapping, Charges, withdrawals, deposits, and any other Sapien platform usage requiring SPN and ETH gas fees. We anticipate that our developing partnership with Matic Network may eliminate the need for setting gas limits, but it’s still a valuable setting as it may be used with other projects built on Ethereum.
